On the Road Again

(editor's note: On the Road Again by Joan Sincerbox will be a regular column. Look for it weekly)
From the very first day the Turner Center opened its doors, we knew our seniors wanted to travel. After spending many hours meeting and talking to them, it was very obvious just what mode they all wanted. It came through loud and clear. They want day trips where they can travel in the comfort of a motor coach (with restrooms!) and be home before dark. Thus was the beginning of On the Road Again.

It was decided at that time to partner with the martin center in Brentwood since they expressed the same goal for their members. In may we did our first trip to old Spencer mill in burns, tn. It was a wonderful and exciting beginning for about almost 30 'daytimers'! The second trip was a guided tour to the country music hall of fame, downtown Nashville and also around town to see some of the local stars' homes. More than 50 'daytimers' joined us for this fun and informative trip.

In August, we are heading to Chattanooga to visit their aquarium and a local eatery.

Planned trips for the rest of the fall are as follows:

September: Paducah, KY- visit the historic district and shop the stores along the Ohio River

Oct: Amish community in Erthridge, TN

Nov: Savannah, TN – Shiloh National Military Park

Dec- Miss Patti's Land between the lakes

Come join our happy group of travelers and meet some new friends!
